CROFTON was proud to join fellow industry leaders at the Virginia US Navy Talent Pipeline Program’s annual kickoff event, hosted at the The Mariners’ Museum and Park.
The Talent Pipeline Program plays a critical role in strengthening Virginia’s workforce by connecting businesses to align training with real-world needs. For companies like CROFTON, that means helping to build a strong, skilled pipeline of future talent ready to take on the challenges of marine construction, diving, heavy lifting, and industrial services.
Together, we’re investing in the next generation of professionals who will carry Virginia’s industries forward.
We’re excited to see what this program year brings and proud to be a part of it.
Vessel Recovery After Fire
After the Island Diver, a 55-foot vessel, caught fire in Portsmouth, the CROFTON team was called in to handle the next big challenge: removing the burned vessel from the water.
As Andy Fox and WAVY TV 10 reported, this was no straightforward lift. With water still inside the steel hull, our crews had to pivot…pumping, adjusting, and ultimately towing the vessel back to our facility to finish the job safely and responsibly.
This was a true team project. We’re proud to play our part alongside the Coast Guard and the City of Portsmouth in protecting our waterways.
CROFTON Team Completes Third Monthly Values Program
Last week, we wrapped up the last session of our third group to complete the CROFTON Monthly Values Program! Over the course of six half-day sessions, this team explored what it means to live out our core values through leadership development, communication, feedback, and real “Values in Action” experiences.
It’s been awesome to see how this program continues to shape our culture and strengthen our team.
We capped things off with a happy hour at Post Secondary Brewing in Olde Towne Portsmouth. Cheers to carrying these values forward in all we do!
