Kevin Crofton and Olga Mileyko Graduate Virginia Maritime Association MLCP

March 20, 2026

Congratulations to CROFTON team members, Kevin Crofton and Olga Mileyko, PMP, for graduating from the 2026 class of the Virginia Maritime Association’s Maritime Leaders Certificate Program (MLCP). This year-long program provides an in-depth look at the maritime and logistics industry while developing the leadership skills that drive our teams and projects forward.

Programs like MLCP help build knowledge and connections across the maritime community. We’re thrilled to see Kevin and Olga continue to grow as leaders and bring that expertise back to our projects at CROFTON.

Congratulations again to our graduates and to the entire MLCP Class of 2026!

CROFTON Tower Crane Assembly at General Dynamics

March 18, 2026

Some projects take a little extra problem solving. This one took a lot.

At General Dynamics, CROFTON assembled Tower Cranes 7 and 8 as part of a Design-Build project aimed at increasing the shipyard’s capacity to service naval vessels.

Originally, the crane assembly was expected to take place from a floating crane alongside the pier. But fluctuating tides, weather conditions, and harbor traffic made that approach less than ideal.

So the CROFTON team got creative.

Two temporary platforms were constructed adjacent to the tower crane foundations. Much of the Manitowoc MLC300 was assembled at the CROFTON yard, then lifted, transported, and placed onto the platform using the Samson. From there, the assembly was completed on the platform before moving forward with the tower crane installations on the pier.

This project is a great example of what can happen when the right team tackles a complex challenge.

Huge shoutout to the CROFTON crew who made it happen, and thank you to General Dynamics and the rest of our project stakeholders for trusting us with such a critical job.

Watch the video to see how the CROFTON team tackled this complex crane assembly.

Celebrating Mike Beasley’s Well-Earned Retirement

March 2, 2026

At the end of February, a CROFTON team members surprised our longtime Dive Superintendent, Mike Beasley, with a small retirement celebration to honor his 42 years of dedication to CROFTON.

Mike started with CROFTON back in 1984 and was part of the crew on our very first pile driving job. He helped lay the foundation for what would become decades of outstanding marine construction work.

Kenny Crofton presented Mike with a framed collection of memorabilia, including photos from that first pile driving job and the original logs from that day. It was a celebration full of memories and gratitude for a career that has shaped CROFTON’s history.

Here’s to Mike! Thank you for 42 years of hard work and friendship. We’ll miss you on the job, but we know retirement is well earned.
