Today marks a proud moment for the Town of Smithfield Virginia and everyone involved in the Cypress Creek Bridge Rehabilitation Project. CROFTON was honored to serve as the construction company on this critical infrastructure improvement for the community.
Our Business Development Director, Camille Crofton Cherry, spoke at today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony, expressing our gratitude to the citizens and Town of Smithfield for the opportunity to work on such a meaningful project. Mayor Mike Smith and Joseph Ludwig, District Construction Engineer for VDOT, also shared remarks celebrating this milestone.
After the ribbon cutting, the festivities continued with a parade of classic cars as residents came out in force to walk and drive both ways across the newly reopened bridge.
It’s been fulfilling to watch this project come to life, knowing it will serve generations to come. We’re thankful to Virginia Department of Transportation and the Town of Smithfield for their partnership, collaboration, and support throughout the process.
Projects like this are possible because of the dedication and skill of so many people: estimators, engineers, project managers, safety professionals, inspectors, foremen, concrete finishers, subcontractors, equipment operators, carpenters, and our hardworking labor crew. Every person played a vital role.
At CROFTON, we’re incredibly fortunate to have such a talented team that consistently goes above and beyond. Thank you to everyone who helped deliver this project safely and efficiently (and two weeks ahead of schedule)!
