CROFTON was proud to sponsor the Portsmouth Power Boat Association, Inc.’s “Powerboats at the Park” and lend a hand with our crane services to help get these impressive boats into the water.
It was a fun day celebrating the talent and passion of our local boating community.

Thanks to the Portsmouth Power Boat Association for a great event!

We were proud to welcome students from Kempsville High School and Green Run Collegiate to CROFTON as part of a Virginia Maritime Association workforce development event.

The students have been exploring Hampton Roads’ maritime industry through visits to facilities including Q.E.D. Systems, Inc., Nauticus, and The Port of Virginia. At CROFTON, they got a closer look at the hands-on careers that keep the maritime industry moving.

They stepped into the crane cab and got to pull the levers themselves, met with our dive equipment team to learn about dive equipment and safety, and got an up-close look at cofferdams, our dive training tank, and decompression chambers. They even watched a diver suit up and enter the tank.

We’re proud to help give the next generation a firsthand look at the career opportunities within Hampton Roads’ maritime industry.

A big thank you to the Virginia Maritime Association for coordinating this experience and to the students for bringing their curiosity and enthusiasm!

After decades of dedication to the construction industry, we’re celebrating a well-earned retirement for a valued member of the CROFTON team, Curly Collier.

Curly joined CROFTON in 2014, bringing decades of marine construction experience and a wealth of knowledge that helped strengthen our team. Before joining CROFTON, Curly spent many years with Tidewater-Skanska, where he contributed to numerous marine infrastructure projects throughout Hampton Roads and beyond, including the Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine, FL, and the Cooper River Bridge in Charleston, SC.

Brandon Griffin, Director of Construction, shared, “I’ve had the opportunity to work with Curly for the past seven years and learned so much from him. I wish him the absolute best in his retirement. He will certainly be missed!”

Thank you, Curly, for your years of hard work, dedication, and leadership. We’re grateful for everything you’ve contributed to CROFTON and wish you all the best in this next chapter!

The first piles are going in at our Lake Herbert project for the City of Norfolk! Our team is proud to be on site, bringing the experience and equipment needed to lay a strong foundation for what’s ahead.
