Strengthening the National Defense Talent Pipeline

On June 10, CROFTON attended the Virginia US Navy Talent Pipeline Program’s Signing Day Ceremony in Norfolk. We were proud to stand alongside 72 other defense employers from across Virginia and the Carolinas, united in one mission: strengthening the workforce behind our nation’s Defense Industrial Base.

This recognition highlights our continued commitment to collaboration and innovation in workforce development. With guidance from Talent Pipeline Program network coaches and through knowledge-sharing with fellow employers, we’re working to improve how we recruit, onboard, and retain top talent.

Special thanks to our HR Director, Amy Perry, who actively represents CROFTON in the program, sharing our hiring data and participating in regular meetings to keep these efforts moving forward.

CROFTON Celebrates Harborfest 2025

We had an incredible time at this year’s Harborfest! The Huntsman made a proud appearance in the Parade of Sails and turned heads during the Tug Muster, with Captain Mike at the helm and Wes on deck representing CROFTON with skill and spirit.

Over at the CROMO, our commercial diving team, Roger, Roland, and Steve, gave festivalgoers an inside look at the fascinating world of underwater work. From curious kids to seasoned mariners, we loved sharing what we do with the community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, waved from the pier, or just helped make the weekend memorable. We’re proud to be part of this annual celebration on the waterfront!

CROFTON Proud to Support National Maritime Day with the Propeller Club

We were honored to sponsor and participate in the National Maritime Day celebration hosted by the The Propeller Club, Port of Norfolk.

The evening was a powerful tribute to the men and women who keep our maritime industry strong. From the moving wreath laying ceremony—conducted from the deck of CROFTON’s own Cromo—to the awards recognizing outstanding contributions, the program reflected the deep sense of pride and purpose that defines our community.

Special thanks to Terrell Moses, President of the Propeller Club Port of Norfolk, and to keynote speaker Captain Peggy M. Britton, USCG–Commander, Coast Guard Sector Virginia, for her inspiring remarks and leadership.

National Maritime Day is a meaningful reminder of the legacy we share and the responsibility we carry to keep our waters, ports, and people safe and strong.

 

Hands-On with CROFTON: A Day at the Maritime Careers Festival

What a great day at the Maritime Careers Festival at Nauticus! We loved meeting everyone who stopped by to learn more about CROFTON and the many career paths in marine construction, heavy lift, and commercial diving. Visitors got hands-on with some of our dive equipment and heard firsthand what it’s like to be part of the CROFTON team.

Thanks to everyone who came out — and to Nauticus for hosting such an engaging and inspiring event. The future of maritime looks bright!
