Welcome to South River High School, located on Central Avenue in Edgewater, Maryland. From dawn until late at night, one senses a purposeful awareness and a deserved pride for the many accomplishments we have achieved since opening our doors in 1978. Like our mascot the Seahawk, the students and faculty of South River High School are fierce and strong , soaring with pride.

Students and faculty are challenged to do their personal best at all times, and never be satisfied with anything less. This clear sense of purpose is constantly conveyed by the administration, and our principal Dr. James Hamilton. A cooperative effort exists among faculty, staff, and administration that helps to provide a stimulating and safe environment where students are encouraged to reach their maximum potential. South River's doors are open. This is truly our school. We depend on each other and take pride in our achievements.

South River High School is proud of its reputation as a model for student service. We feel that our students are able to build bridges to their community, develop a sense of pride in themselves and their school, and develop the "habits of the heart" that will result in a more active and committed citizenry.
